Gordy at the GSDC of Washington State

I have been in GSDs for about 8 years. My first GSD, Kes joined us at 6 months old as a companion. At that time I didn't realize how important it is to research the background of the dog and breeder before purchasing a dog. Sadly Kes is very shy with strangers. She does love other dogs and "runs" the place. She lives a happy life as long as she doesn't have to deal with strangers. Everyday she reminds me to keep good temperament high on my list of qualities to breed for.
After learning the importance researching the dog and breeder and being bit by the show bug I found my girl, Sharobi's Portrait (Sage). Sage has been a great teacher and has a wonderful outgoing personality. She loves everybody especially kids. She loves going to shows and socializing but does not love the show ring. In spite of that she earned 3 points towards her AKC CH before retiring to be a Mom. Her enthusiam for life and playing is a joy. In December 2000 Sage whelped her first litter by Gordy. Two of girls from that litter are just starting their show careers. Time will tell how successful they are in the ring. In the meantime we are sure having fun!
I then added Domara's Gordito to my household. We have been learning the ups and downs of showing together. I couldn't ask for a better travelling companion. Fortunately, he also loves the show ring. This year he has been getting close to collecting some of those points towards his championship, winning a Major Reserve under noted judged Jamie Walker. Gordy has a beautiful structure and true German Shepherd temperament.
I hope some day to get involved in agility or herding with a few of the dogs.
