LIST MEMBERSHIP
The list membership is limited to about 20
active members, although the actual membership may be 35-40.
B.
PROSPECTIVE NEW MEMBERS
- Sponsored
by a member. If a member knows of a likely candidate who would
like to join our family, they need to make the proposed member aware
of our "family" atmosphere and that we are more than just
a dog list. They also need to inform the proposed member of the
large quantity of email that we generate. The sponsor should be able
to inform us about this proposed member and get us a bio.
- Applied
as a result of hearing about this list. The Applicant must
provide us with a bio. The bio will be posted to the list for
response.
The
new applicant is provided with the rules of the list, which include
the high email count and the fact that this is a private, positive
list and that we consider ourselves to be more family that just
information exchange. We value that fact highly.
The
new applicant will then have a 30 day "trial" period
during which membership can be terminated due to the applicant's
inability to mesh with the group. At the end of that time the new member
will be asked to provide information for the web site and will be
considered a full member.
C.
LIST ETIQUETTE
- There will be no bashing, slamming, or rude
behavior allowed. If
anyone feels that they are being singled out and/or untreated fairly
by another member, please contact one of the moderators immediately
for resolution to this matter.
Any one of the moderators has the authority to immediately
set an offending member ‘no-mail’ in the event that this rule is
broken. If a member is set ‘no-mail’ for a behavior issue,
it will be up to a vote of the membership if this member should be
allowed to continue posting or should be removed permanently from
the list membership.
- This list has been created as a source of fun
and sharing. Therefore
the purpose should be that everyone who is a member should want to
participate. If for
some reason you are unable to participate due to extenuating
circumstances (work, school, illness, computer problems, etc.),
please contact one of the moderators to let them know your
situation. Your membership will not be terminated if you notify a
moderator.
- A
member who fails to participate on the list for an extended
period of time may be removed as our membership space is at a
premium. An absence for three weeks without notice to a moderator
may be considered resignation from the list.
- If
you have been removed from membership because of lack of
participation and then wish to rejoin, the procedure will be the
same for new members as well as members who resigned and wish to
rejoin.
- No
copying or duplication
of any kind, in
whole or in part, is allowed of any emails or list materials without
the express written permission of the list owner or moderators.
GSDHaven emails and list materials are private property
and should not be duplicated in any manner nor sent to any person
who is not a member of GSDHaven.
Any member who wishes to disregard this by forwarding or
copying material to non-members will be immediately dropped from the
list membership.
- We welcome photographs and ecards posted
to the list. However, please be aware of the size limitations of
many members’ mailboxes and limit the image size. Please also
remove extraneous material from your replies.
